Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays – Week Forty!
Here we are again, ready to start another Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge!
Our 40th challenge is a perfect time for our “regulars” to show off their papercrafting talents again and for you “newbies” to join in on the fun.
Have you joined in yet?
If so, please share what prompted you to join in so others are inspired to join us; and, if you’ve played along often, what keeps you coming back each week?
If you haven’t joined in yet, why not?
We’d love to know what’s keeping you from joining in and sharing your talents with your community.
Perhaps we can make it more enticing if we know what’s preventing you from being a part of our weekly challenge.
Don’t worry “regulars,” we’re still planning to bring you the papercrafting challenge you’ve come to know and love, but it can always get even better, right?!
And now, it’s time for another fun
Magazine Mondays Papercrafting Challenge!
Before we get started, have you seen the entries in week thirty-nine’s Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge?
One of our “regulars” is back after an unintentional hiatus (welcome back, Karen!), and both of last week’s entrants took on the challenge of not only incorporating the five colors of the Olympic Ring symbol or circles or hearts, but combining two of the required elements.
Be sure to check out their creations!
Now, on to this week’s papercrafting inspiration…
We’d love to have you join in this week’s challenge!
Remember, YOU could WIN!
O.K., it’s time to unveil our 40th magazine…
Forty weeks of papercrafting inspiration, creating and prizes!
And YOU have another chance to papercraft & WIN!
Remember, you can’t WIN if you don’t play!
Come on, Join In!

How’s that for inspiration?
I chose this because of the bright colors and the layered “handcut-looking” images.
I bet most of us are longing for these colors – the colors of Summer! – to again grace our lives, right?
We can’t wait to see what YOU create!
And, now, since it’s our 40th papercrafting challenge,
we’re offering a bonus prize!
Incorporate “40” into your papercrafted project and,
if your name is drawn as this week’s winner,
you’ll not only win a papercrafting surprise,
you’ll also win a $40 gift card to spend with one of our sponsors!!!
Now, just so there’s no confusion,
to enter this week’s challenge,
you are not required to incorporate “40” into your project,
and doing so doesn’t guarantee you’ll win a $40 gift card,
but if you do incorporate “40” into your project
AND your name is drawn as this week’s winner,
you’ll not only receive this week’s papercrafting surprise,
you’ll win a $40 gift card to spend with one of our sponsors.
How fun is that?!
Good luck everyone!
This week’s magazine page layout offers:
- Bright colors
- Handcut-looking images
- A bold, white title/header
- White text on a colored background
- A divided background (light blue on top, dark blue on the bottom)
- Several small blocks of text
- Serif and non-serif typefaces
- A large number (“33,” defining the number of list entries…hint, hint!)
- And, perhaps you see something else?
What are YOU gonna create this week?
Not sure how to use this week’s magazine spread as inspiration?
Simply leave a comment (comment link above or below) and we’ll do our best to assist you.
The Deadline & Creative Options
The deadline for submitting your papercraft projects is Saturday at midnight (central, GMT-6). That means you have five full days to create, submit and WIN!
And, as a reminder, this papercrafting challenge is not just open to cards or scrapbook layouts (which have both been popular entry categories), but to ALL papercrafted creations!
And, it’s open to ALL papercrafters, wherever you are in the world!
How about creating something for your home or office or as a gift?
Whether you like to make home decor items, work in your art journal, create “repurposed” projects out of paper products, make cards, enjoy creating scrapbook layouts, or prefer book-binding, quilling or origami, or some other form of papercrafting, it’s all welcome!
Love this week’s inspiration for a Project Life or 365 entry or page?
Create and enter that!
The ONLY requirements for entering the Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge are that your entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper – and that it must be submitted by the deadline.
Want a chance at winning that $40 gift card we’re offering this week? Be sure to incorporate “40” into your project and keep your fingers crossed that YOUR name is drawn!
Playing along with this week’s papercrafting challenge is easy:
- Go create something – any papercraft project – based on this week’s inspiration (above)
- Come back to this post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation, before midnight (central time, GMT-6) on Saturday, Feburary 22nd, 2014
- Check back often to see what others have created and posted (and show your fellow papercrafters love by commenting on their creations!)
We’ll be checking the comment section of this blog post daily for comments and links to papercrafting goodness, and we’ll pin all the creations to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board and link to them on our Facebook page at the end of the week so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your papercraft creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)
Then, on Sunday, February 23rd, 2014, we’ll randomly choose one participant from this week’s papercrafting challenge entries to receive a fun papercrafting prize!

What is Magazine Mondays All About?
It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines. We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, typography, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create.
And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your papercraft creations and win fun papercrafting prizes!
PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.).
Now we want to become your number-one source of inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!
Magazine Mondays – How To Play Along
Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own.
You’ll create something (ANYTHING papercrafted) and add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation, before midnight (central time, GMT-6) the following Saturday.
We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community.
And, we’ll link to all the creations from our Facebook page so everyone following our Facebook timeline can click through and see the creations our community has shared!
And the best part?
One lucky winner
(chosen randomly from all entries received by midnight [central time, GMT-6]
of the Saturday following the inspiration piece posting)
will receive a prize for participating!
And, the winner will get to see her/his papercraft creation
called out as
Magazine Mondays Pinterest board!
Play along and Good Luck!
