Papercrafting Gratitude: Thankful Thursdays – Week Seven
Papercrafting Gratitude – We’re sharing again!
It’s the time of week when we focus on what we’re thankful for – please join in and share what you’re most thankful for too!
Each week we’re dedicating time to express what we’re thankful for – “practicing” being thankful by dedicating time to reflect on what we’re thankful for, and sharing it during Thankful Thursdays.
And some of us are papercrafting our gratitude and sharing what we create, but it’s NOT a requirement for participation in Thankful Thursdays.
Please join in and invite your friends!
For those who missed the
Thankful Thursdays | The Be Thankful Project launch post,
please check it out and then come on back and join in.
First, I’m thankful for the ability to structure my time in a way that works with my “night owl” tendencies.
I am most productive later in the day and especially late at night (or, in the middle of the night!), as you’ve likely noticed if you’ve been on the site late at night and have seen a new post go live (in real time!).
I think I’d have a tough time adjusting to “normal” hours at this point in my life.
Fortunately, I am able to dictate my schedule (most of the time!) and I have found that I am much more productive working with my body clock than against it.
And who did I inherit my late-night rituals from?
My parents – they’re both night owls!
How about you – are you a night owl, a morning person or somewhere in between?
And, have you ever documented your preferred time for being awake, for being productive?
I’m also thankful for a great professional network.
I have worked with many wonderful people throughout each of my careers and for that I am hugely thankful.
And I have met so many wonderful folks through this industry and so enjoy getting to meet up in person rather than just by phone or email (which is most of the time).
See that lady up there in the orange sweater?
She and I can talk for hours and boy do we laugh!
I am so looking forward to seeing her later this month!
I’ll be heading to several industry events over the next few months (stay tuned for fun shares!) and I’ll admit that it’s the hooking up with colleagues and the friends I’ve made that excites me most!
Well, that and the fact that I will be gathering a lot to share with all of you!
Do you have great work buddies, from your current job or business, or past jobs or businesses?
Did you ever take photos with them?
Create a layout about them?
And finally, I’m thankful for cameras…the three that I carry most every day (my “point-and-pray,” and the cameras in my iPhone and iPad), and the “big one” that goes with me when I travel or cover events (oh, and the ones we use to record review videos and shoot product shots and tutorial step-outs!).
I love that I can capture most anything, most any time, and be instantly transported back in time by perusing my photo collection.
Now, I will admit that I also sometimes feel overwhelmed by all those photos, but I wouldn’t trade that occasional feeling for a more manageable collection.
Of course I can’t forget my very first “real” camera, an old, all-manual Canon FT (just like the one pictured above).
It was my Dad’s (he was a military photographer) and he gave it to me when he upgraded to something more modern.
That old workhorse still takes amazing photos (as long as you know how to set all the settings manually!), it’s just a bit harder to come by roll film these days.
Are you “into” taking photos?
Do you have a favorite camera, or type of shooting?
A collection of favorite photos, or photos subjects or locations?
And, have you documented any of this?
That’s it for my sharing this week – now it’s your turn!
Note: Last week I mentioned that I’d be sharing my Mom’s entry in my Thankful Thursdays journal today, but I’m not quite finished with the page so you’ll have to wait just a bit longer to see it.
I’ll post on Facebook when I add the image here (in case you’re interested in seeing it).
So, who and/or what are YOU thankful for?
Please share your Thankful Thursdays thoughts and/or papercrafting projects for this week – just leave a comment letting us know what you’re thankful for, and link to the project you created to honor it if you created one.
You can list as many or as few items as you want to share, and as much detail as you feel comfortable including.
there’s no wrong or right way to do this
and papercrafting is NOT required!
Thanks so much for joining in this week –
welcome to the Thankful Thursdays club!
Please join us again next Thursday as we share and tell again.
And, if you want to share how you’ll be tracking, documenting and/or papercrafting what you’re thankful for, please leave a link in the comments on this or any post – we’d love to see what you all come up with!
Oh, and in case you missed it…
The Be Thankful Project
What’s The Be Thankful Project?
We’ll soon have a new page on our site titled The Be Thankful Project where we’ll include, in an alphabetical list, what everyone shares during Thankful Thursdays.
The entries on this page will be updated each week and will include what we at PCC share, as well as the thankful topics from all of the papercrafting projects and comments submitted.
We won’t be including names with what you all share, just adding the share topic to the list so others can check it out and use it as inspiration for their own “being thankful” endeavors.
We want to hear from you!
So thankful for all of you – have a great weekend,
