Papercrafting Challenge: Earthday 2015
Papercrafting by recycling, re-purposing and re-using our stuff!
It’s time for a NEW kind of challenge,
an Earth-friendly challenge!
We’ll be creating with what we have on hand,
in our craft rooms and homes.
No matter what kind of papercrafting you are into – scrapbooking, cardmaking, mixed media, art journaling or decor creation, or paper-folding, paper-cutting or paper sculpture – we’d love to have you join us for this new challenge!
And, we’d love to inspire you to create in an earth-friendly way.
Our hope is that we’ll all not only create more, but that we’ll see the everyday items we buy and use in new ways, in ways that inspire us to recycle, re-purpose and re-use what we bring into our lives…or pass them on to others who will!
Are ya up to the task?
We think you are, so let’s get started!
Earth Day Challenge Papercrafting Inspiration:
We’ve compiled a bunch of ideas (like the one shown above)
for creating in an earth-friendly manner.
Check out our Pinterest board,
Papercraft – Repurposing.
Choose any project or idea you find on that board,
or share one of your own that you consider earth-friendly.
It can be as simple as recycling papercrafting supplies or tools you no longer use
(including finding them new homes!),
re-purposing items you’ve purchased
(including using supplies and tools in new ways
or incorporating “disposable” items you’d normally toss into a project),
or re-using items that you would normally replace
(think reconditioning die-cutting mats).
There are so many ways we can all be more earth-friendly –
we can’t wait to see what you inventive papercrafters come up with!
And don’t forget to get the kiddos involved – this is a great teaching moment!
We hope this new challenge inspires you to join in!
Now off you go, start creating!
The Deadline & Creative Options
The deadline for submitting your earth-friendly papercrafting projects is Sunday, April 26th, 2015, at midnight (central, GMT-5).
This papercrafting challenge is open to ALL papercrafted creations!
And, it’s open to ALL papercrafters,
wherever you are in the world!
How about creating something for your home or office or as a gift?
Whether you like to make home decor items, work in your art journal, create “repurposed” projects out of paper products, make cards, enjoy creating scrapbook layouts, or prefer book-binding, quilling or origami, or some other form of papercrafting, we know you’ll come up with something fun and unique!
The ONLY requirements for entering this earth-friendly papercrafting challenge are that your entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper – and that it must include an element of recycling, re-purposing or re-using, and be submitted by the deadline.
Playing along with this papercrafting challenge is easy:
- Go create something – any papercraft project – that incorporates recycling, re-purposing or re-using something…anything!
- Come back to this post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation, by midnight (central time, GMT-5) on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
- Check back often to see what others have created and posted (and show your fellow papercrafters love by commenting on their creations!)
We’ll be checking the comment section of this blog post for comments and links to your earth-friendly papercrafting projects, and we’ll pin all the creations to our Papercraft – Repurpose board and link to them on our Facebook page so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)
Then, on Monday, April 27, 2015, we’ll randomly choose three papercrafters to receive a fun prize!
Have a great week and happy recycling, re-purposing and re-using!
