It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not because kids are jingle belling…because Pantone has announced the new color of the year!
After several years of cheerfully bright colors, last year Pantone went with a color that had more depth. Tangerine Tango was meant to “provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.” Emerald follows in her footsteps and is meant to “enhance our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight, as well as promote balance and harmony.”
In scrapbooking we’ve seen lots of brighter more yellowy greens in recent years. But Pantone’s choice of Emerald means that we may begin to see a swing back toward deeper tones. You may have already noticed this happening as more navy blues are introduced into many lines. Amy Tangerine’s Ready Set Go and October Afternoon’s Woodland Park lines have already begun to include a bit of the deeper green into their scrapbooking products.
As more companies begin to reveal their sneaks for CHA Winter it will be interesting to see if the deepening color trend continues!
As for me I think I need to tell my husband that Pantone says I need one of these babies for Christmas! Who’s with me?
