Papercrafting Inspiration – Magazine Mondays: Week Four Inspiration…here we go!
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend and that you’re ready to get your papercrafting on again.
I spent the weekend at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas (COTA) racetrack with my husband, my brother-in-law and a few old friends from the Twin Cities.
MotoGP was in town and I surprised my husband with tickets for his birthday.
To say it was exciting would be an understatement. If you’ve never been right next to a racetrack when a motorcycle comes by at well over 150 MPH, it’s exhilarating!
I’ll share some photos soon – I took more than a thousand (!) so it will take some time to sort them out and choose those that best represent the event, the track, the people and nationalities, the food and the branding. And of course, even longer for me to get around to scrapping them!
Now, on to the important stuff – it’s time for another edition of…
New to Magazine Mondays?
Please scroll down to the section “What is Magazine Mondays All About?” for more information, then scroll back up and check out this week’s challenge.
And now, this week’s papercrafting inspiration:
Whether you’re attracted to…
- the layout
- the colors
- the mirroring of the images
- the fonts
- the focus on the year
- or, something else entirely
…we believe you’ll find a way to incorporate something from this week’s magazine into your next papercraft creation.
Not sure how to use this cover as inspiration? Simply leave a comment (comment link above) and we’ll do our best to assist you.
We look forward to seeing what YOU create this week!
This papercrafting challenge is not just open to cards (like those you’ve seen entered the last couple weeks) or scrapbook layouts (which have been a popular entry category), but to ALL papercrafted creations! How about creating something for your home or office or as a gift?
Whether you like to make home decor items, work in your art journal, create “repurposed” projects out of paper products, make cards, enjoy creating scrapbook layouts, or prefer book-binding, quilling or origami, or some other form of papercrafting, it’s all welcome! Love this week’s inspiration for a Project Life or 365 entry or page? Create and enter that!
The ONLY requirement for entering the Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge (at this time) is that your entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper.
Playing along with this papercrafting challenge is easy:
- Go create something – any papercraft project – based on this week’s inspiration above
- Come back to this post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation
- Check back often to see what others have created and posted
- Check the blog Friday afternoon to see if you won!
We’ll be checking the comment section of this blog post daily for comments and links to papercrafting goodness, and we’ll pin all the creations to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board and link to them on our Facebook page at the end of the week so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your papercraft creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)
Then, on Friday morning, we’ll randomly choose one participant from that week’s papercraft entries to receive a fun prize!
And, their winning entry will be the cover image for our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board until the next magazine inspiration piece is posted the following Monday, and will forever* live in our Facebook timeline!
Have a great evening everyone and happy papercrafting!
*As long as Facebook exists and we have a page!
What is Magazine Mondays All About?
It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines. We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create.
And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your papercraft creations and win fun prizes!
PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.).
Now we want to become your number-one source of papercrafting inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!
Magazine Mondays – How To Play Along
Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own. Then, we’ll invite you to add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation.
We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community.
And, we’ll link to the creations from our Facebook page so everyone following our Facebook timeline will see the creations our community has shared!
And the best part?
One lucky winner (chosen randomly) will receive a prize for participating!
And, the winner will get to see her/his papercraft creation on the cover of our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board
until the next magazine inspiration is posted!
Play along and Good Luck!
