I have to compliment Hero Arts on the way that they roll out their new catalog each year.
Hero Arts nicely balances the needs & wants of the independent retailers along with their own corporate retail goals. To do this, Hero Arts makes their new catalog available exclusively, for a brief period of time, via the independent retailers only. During this time of exclusivity, independent retailers are encouraged to hold “Catalog Debut Parties” to promote the product and to highlight their exclusive status.
To support them, Hero Arts promotes the catalog debut parties via their website and promotes the catalog itself via a widely advertised blog hop. (Remember: Retailers are always encouraged to publicize paper their crafting events via our local event listings. )
Finally, after the independent stores have had about 10 days to enjoy their exclusive position in the marketplace, Hero Arts makes the catalog available online for everyone to access and browse.
If you are an independent retailer, I would love to hear your thoughts on the Hero Arts catalog roll-out process!
Meanwhile, the rest of us now finally have a chance to peruse the Hero Arts 2012 Catalog in its entirety! Yahoo! Enjoy 🙂
