For those of you who have been scrapbooking since the late 1990’s or early 2000’s, you undoubtedly recognize the brand, “Mrs. Grossman’s.”
Yes, I remember trolling through an entire WALL at my local scrapbook store devoted to the huge rolls of Mrs. Grossman’s stickers. It was heaven!! Rolls upon rolls of stickers, dedicated to every possible theme you could imagine. (Ah, yes, those were the good ole days!)
Mrs. Grossman’s first sticker was a little red heart. Andrea Grossman developed it quite by accident in 1979. By the early 2000’s, Mrs. Grossman was selling 15,000 miles of stickers per year!
Stickers in scrapbooking have certainly had their ups & downs since then . …. Regardless of your scrapbooking style & preferences, you must admit it’s hard to imagine a scrapbooking world without them!
As I read on the San Francisco Chronicle blog, Mrs Grossman turned 80 earlier this month.
She is still involved in the company and checks in at “Stickerland” occasionally, though these days she focuses her energies on philanthropic efforts, such as donating stickers to children’s hospitals all over the US.
Happy Birthday Mrs. Grossman! Thank you for your huge contribution to an industry I love <3!
