Recap: Throughout parts I, II, and III of this series, we worked together using an Allison Davis sketch provided by Scrapbook Generation to build a 2-page, 6 photo layout together. To refresh your memory, below is the sketch we used for the challenge:
As you know, this was my first time EVER using a sketch! I have to say I really enjoyed using a sketch and will definitely try it again on my next layout! I loved having the measurements right there in front of me.. It was reassuring to know, before I even started, that the layout would look balanced once complete. It gave me so much more confidence when slicing into my patterned papers!
Using only the sketch as inspiration, I would have ended up somewhere in this range ….
Cute, right? A layout that is very "me," but without excess hours & iterations. Nice!
But, of course we didn't stop there :) As requested, you guys chimed in with recommendations on colors, matting, and other details to help me take it a little further. I'm SO GLAD you did! Look at how much BETTER it looks after we worked on it together!
Our Final Version, Created with Your Input
And now, I really love it! Thanks so much for your help & inspiration! (Whew! Are you as glad as I am that we won't be using these same photos of my son again here at PCC?!)
