Finally some GOOD news from the land of mergers, acquisitions and sales in the paper crafting industry!
C-Thru Ruler was founded in 1993 as a provider of measurement, drafting and lettering supplies. In more recent years, the company expanded into the design and paper crafting industry under the brands of Little Yellow Bicycle and Deja-Views.
Yesterday, Little Yellow Bicycle announced that the original C-Thru Ruler portions of the business have been sold to Acme United Corporation so that the founders of the company might focus exclusively on the design and paper crafting side of the business. The company going forward will be known as Little Yellow Bicycle, Inc.
As consumers, we’ll see virtually no change, which makes this announcement hardly “newsworthy” to us.
But actually, it IS newsworthy! And here’s why:
This business decision by the owners of C-Thru Ruler & LYB shows the STRENGTH of one of our favorite brands, Little Yellow Bicycle! It shows the FAITH that its founders have in the LYB brand and in the paper crafting industry as a whole.
And so for that reason, I share a “woot woot!”
