Okay, gang. I've got to know. How many of you are moving toward digital scrapbooking? Lately, every time I turn around, I'm seeing more digital.
- This season, the biggest product releases for both CM and for CTMH were digital scrapbooking products.
- I just received an invite from CK Media to their "Digital Scrapbook Experience" conference in Utah in Sept. (For the low, low price of $345 per student, not including airfare and probably not including hotel. Yikes! If you've recently won the lottery, you can register here ;)
- At a crop with my scrapbook meetup group earlier this summer, two new members brought only computers and digicropped the whole time.
- The scrapbook magazines have slowly but surely been inserting articles about digital scrapbooking — and those sections are only expanding.
Eek! Am I a dinosaur? I love traditional scrapbooking. I love puttering around, dragging photos & embellishments around the page, feeling the textures with my hands, collecting & organizing all the STUFF, etc. I want to curse at the ribbon that won't loop properly or the eyelet that won't set — not the digital embellishment that won't download or other computer-y stuff! (Yes, that's a technical term.)
What is happening to traditional scrapbooking? Is this beginning of the end for it? Gosh, if I become a digital scrapper, will I have to give-up my scrapbook room? My most favorite place? Because after all, I would no longer need a place of my own to store all the gorgeous stuff! And, gasp, what place would my Cricut hold in that world?
