We received an email yesterday afternoon that we just had to share with you! No, it's nothing earthshattering. In fact, it tells a story of something that we HOPE is happening with readers all over the South. One of our PaperCrafter's Corner readers saw something on our Georgia page which made her decide to visit a LSS that she'd never visted…And in the process, she ended up bonding with fellow paper crafters, sharing info, and potentially even inspiring an LSS owner to plan a weekend retreat. Check it out! With her permission, I share "Sassy's" email to us below:
Today after [my son's]baseball game in [a nearby town], I decided to stop at the Scrapbook Shoppe in Columbus, GA. I met owner, Cheryl and her assistant, Jill who helped me with picking out paper, embellishments, and page layouts. I mentioned that I found out about her store on PaperCrafters Corner. The layout of the store's floor plan was easy to get around and I liked her [organizational style]with coordinating paper, alphabets, embellishments, stickers, flowers, buttons or chipboard all together.
Cheryl was hosting a "Free Cricut Crop" from 1-5PM. Yes, I said "FREE!" and she was teaching the basics of the Cricut and how to use it. She has a nice set up area for crops and I spoke to a number of ladies that were there and you know we all enjoyed gabbing about our favorite subject, scrapbooking! I picked up the store's schedule so that I can choose another Saturday to take one of her classes.
I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet Cheryl and am keeping my fingers cross for a Weekend Crop at Callaway Gardens in the Fall.
Pretty cool, huh? We love stories like this! If you haven't lately, be sure to check out the events page for your state & see what nearby opportunities you may have for connecting with area paper crafters! Also, if you know of events that we don't have listed, be sure to send those in. We can't print them all, but we do our best!
