Studio Calico & American Crafts both announced today a brand new partnership between the two companies. American Crafts is now going to be producing and distributing the Studio Calico products.
Studio Calico, founded & led by April Foster, will continue to develop new products for the Studio Calico brand, but they they will be produced & distributed by AC. In addition, both press releases mentioned that the Studio Calico kit club will continue to operate separately from this new partnership.
Isn’t this interesting? Why, just last week Sassafras Lass announced that they would no longer be manufacturing, but would instead simply be licensing their designs to other manufacturers. Earlier in the month, Cosmo Cricket announced that they had been acquired by Advantus with the original Cosmo Cricket team focusing on product development and creative, with the Advantus folks focusing on production, distribution and operations.
What a trend we are seeing here! What do you make of it??
Well hopefully this will help these hard to find paper lines, like Studio Calico reach more croppers. personally i would love to be able to get great lines of paper like Studio Calico without ordering online.
hope this means AC will offer the Studio Calico products in stores like Michaels.
