Stampin Up has issued new consultant agreements which consultants must sign by September 30, 2009. There are two major issues causing great angst for SU consultants. (1) a further definition of its non-compete and (2) a restriction of electronic communication as it relates to competing product.
Apparently, not only can SU demonstrators no longer participate on design teams that promote competing product, but they also are no longer allowed for their personal blogs or sites to link to sites that promote competing products.
Wow, in today's age of Facebook & Twitter & the Blogosphere, how is that even possible? The scrapbook & paper craft world is a community of intertwined friends and fellow crafters. Aren't we all linked together in one way or another? Isn't that part of why we all love this hobby so much?
I can only imagine how the various messageboards must already be "lighting up" as demonstrators from all of the major direct sales companies explore how these restrictions will impact their hobby, their business, and their friendships!
