Papercrafting Organization: A Series for Papercrafters, Crafters, Artists & Students
Have you enjoyed your summer?
I sure have!
I’m especially thankful for the cooler-than-normal temps we’ve had here in Austin this year.
It’s been soooo much better than in years past when we’ve had 100+ days for 90+ days straight!
This California girl found that quite hard to handle.
It is a bit hard to believe the season is coming to a close.
Where did those three months go?
We’re Getting Organized!
Well, it might not be January, the more typical time for major organizational overhauls in many resolution-making homes, but it IS a great time to get our papercraft, crafting and art supplies (and back-to-school necessities) in order.
It’s a perfect time for getting organized!
Well, organizing is all about being in control of your space, productivity, time and money – and getting organized now means you can have more of all of those, especially as the kids (or you!) head back to school and time becomes even more precious than during the lazy days of summer.
Papercrafting Organization & More
You may recall that we announced a new series focused on gaining control over our creative spaces, wherever they might be and no matter their size. But, it’s not just about getting your creative space organized, but applying the fundamentals to all areas of your home, office and even life!
And, since we’re smack dab in the middle of back-to-school season, we’ll be dedicating some of our initial focus and tips to creating more harmonious home and study environments, and creating habits that can make our early mornings, activity-filled afternoons and evenings, study time, and weekend events less stressful and more fun! Again, to enable you to have more time for creating!
YOU Could WIN!
We are so very lucky to have a wonderful sponsor for our papercrafting organization series – a series all about getting our craft rooms, creative spaces, craft business offices, art studios, portable craft kits (and even our study spaces!) in order – order that can leave us with more enjoyable and functional spaces, increased productivity, less wasteful spending, and more time and mojo for creating (and fun!).
But, they’re not just a product sponsor. No, no no!
They’re a sponsor who not only provides quality organizing furnishings and products, but a sponsor who wants YOU to WIN them!
What could be more perfect than a sponsor known for quality organizing products, products such as the Jetmax® craft storage solution?
And, Go-Organize.com not only offers products to get your creative space organized, but organizing products for the rest of your home too!
After all, once you get one space organized, it’s highly likely you’ll be so motivated by the results that you’ll want to take on the next room and the next and the next and…
Well, you get it.
FREE REGULAR SHIPPING
on all items!
Can you believe it?
We are thrilled to have Go-Organize.com join our papercrafting community and look forward to sharing their organizing solutions with you as we work on getting our spaces more organized.
So, how do YOU WIN Go-Organize.com‘s products?
Go-Organize.com is giving
THREE lucky papercrafters a chance to WIN
one of THREE $100 Shopping Codes!
I bet I have your attention now, right?!
You will have to actively participate in the series,
sharing your organizing challenges,
providing feedback on ideas and tips we share,
and showing Go-Organize some love (well, LIKEs).
No, it’s not hard!
Best of all? YOU benefit!
As a former professional organizer (who continues to speak about the topic at conferences), I have worked with clients in organizing (and reclaiming) their craft rooms, art studios, home offices, kids’ rooms, studies, kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, garages, closets and storage units.
What do all these spaces have in common?
All can become easily cluttered, resulting in a space you dread going into. And, all can become wonderful, happy places to be with just a little organizing know-how and effort, know-how I will share combined with a little effort from you.
What makes this papercrafting organization series special and worth your participation?
Well, if your creative space is perfect just as it is, perhaps there’s no reason for you to participate. (Although I believe you’ll still pick up some helpful tips AND you could WIN some fun new organizing furnishings!)
But, I’m willing to bet there are at least a few of you who feel you need a little help in this area. And, perhaps a few of you who shudder at the thought of even opening the door to your most challenging spaces.
Am I right?
And, who doesn’t want to WIN some fun new organizating furnishings?!
The goal for our papercrafting organizion series is to provide you with organizing principles that you can apply not just to your creative space, but to every space in your home, if you so desire.
Best of all, you’re getting the benefit of my years of professional organizing experience and it won’t cost you a dime!
You’ll not only get to learn the fundamentals of organizing, the “secrets” we organizers know and put to use to create relaxing, productive and happy spaces, but you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions about your specific organizing challenges and get answers from a pro! Again, free of charge!
How’s that sound?
Hopefully, that sounds great and you’re excited to have your very own professional organizer at your disposal.
Now, I can’t commit to coming to everyone’s homes, but I CAN offer you all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years and I will do my best to provide suggestions for your specific organizing challenges.
Each week I’ll post a new organizing lesson and/or organizing tips and suggestions, followed by a request for questions about your specific organizing challenges.
You’ll post your questions (and comments) in the comment section of each week’s post and I’ll provide answers to your questions in the Q&A section of the following week’s post.
I’ll also ask for your feedback on how the tips and suggestions we shared (and you applied) worked for you.
Then, I’ll offer additional tips and suggestions based on your feedback. Yup, just like I would do when working one-on-one with a client.
Since there’s no time like the present for getting started, we’re going to start right now!
O.K. with you?
Papercrafting Organization: The Foundation
Following is the core of what is most important to understand about organization – consider it your organizing foundation.
Once you have read Lesson #1, be sure to take a look at your two assignments and prepare them (don’t worry, they’re quick and easy, unlike that chemistry final from years past!).
You MUST do the assignments to have a chance
to WIN Go-Organize.com products
(even when the assignment only includes window shopping!)
Disorganization: Lesson #1 – It Ain’t About the Stuff!
How can it not be about the stuff when we’re talking about getting organized?!
It’s about the space, the productivity, the money and the time, or a combination of one or more of these – and it’s about a lack or misuse of one or more of these due to a lack of organization.
Sometimes a total lack of any kind of organization.
Sometimes a lack of an organizational solution that’s right for YOU. Right now.
It’s important to note that being organized is NOT about being perfect – it’s about finding and employing solutions that enable you to enjoy your space; it’s about being productive when you have time to create; it’s about using your money and time efficiently; and, most importantly, it’s about finding what works for YOU!
Assignment #1 – You:
Yup, we’re getting right down to business! But, I promise this assignment is not hard, and it’s vital to finding a solution that works for YOU!
Your first assignment is to jot down all the areas where you think you need guidance – what are your biggest challenges around getting, and staying, organized?
Once you have your list compiled (and there are NO right or wrong answers here!), share them in the comments section of this post.
Assignment #2 – You:
Go to the Go-Organize.com Facebook page and show them how excited you are to WIN some of their products: LIKE their page!
If you feel like sharing with others, that’s wonderful, but it’s NOT a requirement.
Note: Just like a teacher, I will check your assignments for completeness –
incomplete assignments = poor grades and no FREE Stuff!
Assignment #1 – Me:
I will compile a master list of everything everyone shares and we’ll start tackling the challenges in our next Get Organized! post.
Please join us here again for our next lesson
and your first chance to WIN!
We’ll see you on Thursday!
Worried you’ll forget to check for your weekly assignments
and miss out on your chance to WIN?
