Papercrafting Inspiration – Magazine Mondays: Week Six Inspiration…it’s time again!
Good morning everyone,
I hope you all had a great National Scrapbooking Day weekend.
What did YOU do on Saturday to celebrate NSD 2013?
Please share your comments here or on our Facebook page.
What did I do in that booth?
I taught people (mostly kids) how to make cards. But not just any cards – cards for Operation Write Home!
It was so much fun seeing the cardmakers faces when they finished their cards – many of the kids just beamed!
I’ll be sharing pix and stories from the event in another post soon.
If you have some extra time and supplies, the folks at Operation Write Home would LOVE to have your handmade cards – the troops overseas who receive these cards to use to stay in touch with their loved ones back home are so very appreciative of every single card and opportunity to stay connected, in a handmade way.
O.K., back to Magazine Mondays, Week Six…

And now, this week’s papercrafting inspiration:
- Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays – Week Six
What are you focused on?
- the soft background color
- the “sectioning” of the page
- the fun photo images of the glasses with eyes
- the great typeface that Esquire‘s written in
- or, something else entirely?
Have fun incorporating something from this week’s magazine into your next papercraft creation.
Not sure how to use this cover as inspiration? Simply leave a comment (comment link above) and we’ll do our best to assist you.
We look forward to seeing what YOU create this week!
This papercrafting challenge is not just open to cards or scrapbook layouts (which have both been popular entry categories), but to ALL papercrafted creations!
How about creating something for your home or office or as a gift?
Whether you like to make home decor items, work in your art journal, create “repurposed” projects out of paper products, make cards, enjoy creating scrapbook layouts, or prefer book-binding, quilling or origami, or some other form of papercrafting, it’s all welcome! Love this week’s inspiration for a Project Life or 365 entry or page? Create and enter that!
The ONLY requirement for entering the Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge (at this time) is that your entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper.
Playing along with this papercrafting challenge is easy:
- Go create something – any papercraft project – based on this week’s inspiration above
- Come back to this post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation
- Check back often to see what others have created and posted
- Check the blog Friday afternoon to see if you won!
We’ll be checking the comment section of this blog post daily for comments and links to papercrafting goodness, and we’ll pin all the creations to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board and link to them on our Facebook page at the end of the week so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your papercraft creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)
Then, on Friday afternoon (delayed a bit to give you all more time to create and submit since this week’s post was delayed), we’ll randomly choose one participant from that week’s papercraft entries to receive a fun prize!
And, their winning entry will be the cover image for our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board until the next magazine inspiration piece is posted the following Monday, and will forever* live in our Facebook timeline!
Have a great evening everyone and happy papercrafting!
*As long as Facebook exists and we have a page!
What is Magazine Mondays All About?
It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines. We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create.
And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your papercraft creations and win fun prizes!
PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.).
Now we want to become your number-one source of papercrafting inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!
Magazine Mondays – How To Play Along
Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own. Then, we’ll invite you to add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation.
We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community.
And, we’ll link to the creations from our Facebook page so everyone following our Facebook timeline will see the creations our community has shared!
And the best part?
One lucky winner (chosen randomly) will receive a prize for participating!
And, the winner will get to see her/his papercraft creation on the cover of our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board
until the next magazine inspiration is posted!
Play along and Good Luck!
