Another edition of Magazine Mondays has come to a close.
For those who might have missed last week’s post,
Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays Week Eight,
here’s a quick look at last week’s inspiration piece:
There were numerous items to focus on…
- the patriotic theme
- the colors
- the fonts
- the simplicity of the design…
…but mostly it was chosen and shared in honor of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country.
Several papercrafters were inspired and shared their creations…
First up: Holly E.
Holly E.’s Project
(click on the link above to see Holly’s project posted on Flickr)
Holly created a lively card, focusing on the red, white and blue, AND the stars and stripes.
Second up: Nithya S.
Nithya not only created a wonderful thank-you card inspired by the stars and stripes, but she shared how she used last week’s inspiration piece as a teaching moment for her child.
Check out her blog post to read about it!
And the winner is…
Please join me in congratulating our winner,
Nithya: please send your full name and address to me
so I can send you your prize!
Did you miss out on playing along this week?
No worries, there’s always next week!
And, if you subscribe to our newsletter, you’ll receive an emailed reminder every Monday when the new inspiration piece is posted.
Plus, you’ll always be up-to-date on the latest and greatest in the papercrafting industry!
Want to know how to play along next week?
- Go create something – any papercraft project – based on next week’s inspiration piece (the inspiration piece will be posted Monday, June 3, in the afternoon)
- Come back to next week’s post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation, before midnight (central time) on Friday, June 7, 2013.
- Check back often to see what others have created and posted (and show your fellow papercrafters love by commenting on their creations!)
We’ll be checking the comment section of next week’s blog post daily for comments and links to papercrafting goodness, and we’ll pin all the creations to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board and link to them on our Facebook page at the end of the week so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your papercraft creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)
Then, on Saturday, June 8th, we’ll randomly choose one participant from the next week’s papercraft entries to receive a fun prize!
What is Magazine Mondays All About?
It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines. We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create.
And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your papercraft creations and win fun papercrafting prizes!
PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.).
Now we want to become your number-one source of inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!
Magazine Mondays – How To Play Along
Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own.
You’ll create something (ANYTHING papercrafted) and add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation, before midnight (central time) the following Friday.
We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community.
And, we’ll link to all the creations from our Facebook page so everyone following our Facebook timeline will see the creations our community has shared!
And the best part?
One lucky winner
(chosen randomly from all entries received by midnight [central time] of the Friday following the inspiration piece posting)
will receive a prize for participating!
And, the winner will get to see her/his papercraft creation on the cover of our
Magazine Mondays Pinterest board until the following challenge!
This papercrafting challenge is not just open to cards or scrapbook layouts (which have both been popular entry categories), but to ALL papercrafted creations!
How about creating something for your home or office or as a gift?
Whether you like to make home decor items, work in your art journal, create “repurposed” projects out of paper products, make cards, enjoy creating scrapbook layouts, or prefer book-binding, quilling or origami, or some other form of papercrafting, it’s all welcome! Love this week’s inspiration for a Project Life or 365 entry or page? Create and enter that!
The ONLY requirements for entering the Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge (at this time) is that your entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper – and it must be linked to before the deadline.
Play along and Good Luck!
