Week 65’s Papercrafting Inspiration:

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays – Week 65 Inspiration Piece

What do you think of our newest magazine inspiration piece?

I chose this magazine because I need a
creativity-mojo “booster shot” from time to time
and this list provides some great ones
that I thought you might also find useful.

I find that #s 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 15, 17, 25 and 39
are essential to getting me back in the creative groove.

How about you? Any of these ideas ring a bell with you?

We hope this week’s cover not only inspires you to
grab your papercrafting supplies and PLAY along with us,
but that it kicks your creativity into high gear!

We can’t wait to see what YOU create!

This week’s magazine cover/layout offers:

  • A numbered list
  • A vintage feel (due to the muted and distressed background & font colors)
  • A variety of fonts (including one which contains patterns)
  • Limited colors – only red & blue & black
  • Fun, hand-drawn images and letters
  • A poster look/feel
  • Tips and/or ideas
  • A large header (title) with a line separating it from the rest of the document
  • And, perhaps you see something else?

What are YOU going to create this week?

Not sure how to use this week’s magazine as inspiration?
Simply leave a comment (comment link above or below) and we’ll do our best to assist you.

The Deadline & Creative Options

The deadline for submitting your papercraft projects this week is Sunday, August 31st, at midnight (central, GMT-6).

As a reminder, this papercrafting challenge is not just open to cards or scrapbook layouts (which have both been popular entry categories), but to ALL papercrafted creations!

And, it’s open to ALL papercrafters,
wherever you are in the world!

How about creating something for your home or office or as a gift?

Whether you like to make home decor items, work in your art journal, create “repurposed” projects out of paper products, make cards, enjoy creating scrapbook layouts, or prefer book-binding, quilling or origami, or some other form of papercrafting, it’s all welcome!

Love this week’s inspiration for a Project Life or 365 entry or page?

Create and enter that!

The ONLY requirements for entering the Magazine Mondays papercrafting challenge are that your entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper – and that it must be submitted by the deadline.

Playing along with this week’s papercrafting challenge is easy:

  • Go create something – any papercraft project – based on this week’s inspiration (above)
  • Come back to this post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation, by midnight (central time, GMT-6) on Sunday, August 31st.
  • Check back often to see what others have created and posted (and show your fellow papercrafters love by commenting on their creations!)

We’ll be checking the comment section of this blog post for comments and links to papercrafting goodness, and we’ll pin all the creations to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board and link to them on our Facebook page so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your papercraft creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)

Then, on Monday, September 1stwe’ll randomly choose one papercrafter from this week’s papercrafting challenge entries to receive a fun papercrafting prize.

And, their winning entry will be called out as ***THE WINNER*** on our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board, and a link to their entry will forever live in our Facebook timeline!

Have a great week and happy papercrafting adventures!

What is Magazine Mondays All About?

It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines.

We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, typography, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create.

And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your papercraft creations and win fun papercrafting prizes!

PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.).

Now we want to become your number-one source of inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!

Magazine Mondays – How To Play Along

Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own.

You’ll create something (ANYTHING papercrafted) and add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation, before midnight (central time, GMT-6) the following Saturday.

We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community.

And, we’ll link to all the creations from our Facebook page so everyone following our Facebook timeline can click through and see the creations our community has shared!

And the best part?

One lucky winner
(chosen randomly from all entries received
by midnight [central time, GMT-6]
of the Sunday following the inspiration piece posting)
will receive a prize for participating!

And, the winner will get to see
her/his papercraft creation called out as
***THE WINNER*** on our
Magazine Mondays Pinterest board

Play along and Good Luck!

:) – they sure are CREATIVE ways to stay creative Steph – LOVE IT and really excited at what it will INSPIRE – I know my mind is swirling with ideas but know that I can’t do them yet, so will write them down for another day.
Shared with my crafty friends and hope they are inspired too!!!

Thanks for tuning in each week even when you can’t play along, and especially for sharing with your crafting buddies so they can play along if inspired to do so.

Hopefully you’ll be with us papercrafting soon!

    • Stephanie Hackney says

I’m glad you like it. I love fonts/typefaces, but wasn’t sure if they resonated with others.

Oh! I like this cover. I love the list, the colors, the playfulness and little sketches. I cannot read the list on this computer, but I will tomorrow. I have lots of ideas and hope I can take time to play along this week.

Wow! I’m thinking a list of some sort for my project, but I do love some of the great ideas in this. I think I will have to save it for inspiration when my mojo has slowed. I did just declutter, #25, and am now ready to experiment 4, and practice 34! There are definitely some fun ones here! :o)

    • Stephanie Hackney says

Don’t you love it when inspiration strikes when you need it…and when you can do something with it?

Can’t wait to see your card,

    • Stephanie Hackney says

      No worries – I’m a last-minute gal myself! 😉

I think you have a great attitude about creating – it is what it is and we always learn from what we make, right?

      Off to have a look,

    • Stephanie Hackney says

I’m so glad to hear those body parts are being cooperative! :)

Can’t wait to see what you created,
