Making Memories announced today that they have merged with ANW Crestwood. ANW markets under the brands Creativity Works, TPC Studio, Paper Adventures, and The Paper Company.
Rumors have been swirling around Making Memories for the past several months, which prompted a blanket email in mid September from the Making Memories President to address the rumors head-on and to assure customers and fans that Making Memories wasn’t going away.
The blog post from Making Memories today says they will retain “all creative, marketing, and product development functions.” As we’ve seen with other recent mergers & acquisitions in the industry, the brand that scrapbookers & paper crafters know and love will continue to exist; however, behind the scenes, the business operations will primarily be handled by the larger corporate entity. (We’ve recently seen similar changes at Cosmo Cricket, Studio Calico, Crate Paper, and Sassafras Lass.)

Looking ahead, you can expect to see trend-forward products to be released at CHA. Making Memories is teaming up with various artists in addition to releasing a signature line that crosses categories into several crafting areas from mixed media, fashion accessories, scarpbooking, papercrafting, and more.
Personally, I am hopeful this change will bring-back the Making Memories that I knew and loved when I first started paper crafting years ago! What are your thoughts?
