Papercrafting with Magazine Mondays: Take Two!
Good Afternoon Everyone,
It’s that time again – time for Magazine Mondays!
New to Magazine Mondays?
Please scroll down to the section “What is Magazine Mondays All About?” for more information.
What’s this week’s papercrafting inspiration piece look like?
Well, we’re glad you asked…
How’s that for papercrafting inspiration?!
For those of you who are children of the 50s/60s/70s, this likely looks very familiar. For the more mature folks, this is what your kiddos were likely reading when you told them, for the umpteenth time, to turn out the lights! And, for the youngsters in the crowd, this was THE thing to read back then!
Whether you choose to create something using…
- the pattern (honeycomb – everything old is new again, right?)
- the color combination (can you say 60s, 70s?)
- the fonts (a great collection of era-inspired typefaces)
- the blocked style
- or perhaps you see something else inspiring
…we’re sure you’ll find a way to make this inspiration piece your own.
Not sure how to use this cover as papercrafting inspiration? Simply leave a comment below and we’ll do our best to help you out.
Or, better yet, ask your fellow papercrafters for advice. The many talented papercrafters in the PCC community are happy to assist, right kids?
We look forward to seeing some groovy creations!
Playing along with this challenge is easy:
- Go create something – anything paper-related – based on this week’s inspiration above
- Come back to this post and leave a comment, including a link to where you’ve posted your papercraft creation
- Check back often to see what others have created and posted
- Check the blog Friday afternoon to see who won! Will it be you? It could be!
We’ll be checking the comment section of this blog post daily for comments and links, and will pin all the papercraft creations to our Papercraft – Magazine Mondays Pinterest board at the end of the week so everyone can be inspired. (Note: be sure your creation is not blocked from being pinned if you want it added to our board.)
Then, on Friday morning, we’ll randomly choose one participant from that week’s papercraft entries to receive a fun prize!
And, their winning entry will be the cover image for our Papercraft – Magazine Mondays Pinterest board until the next magazine inspiration piece is posted the following Monday!
Have a great evening everyone and happy papercrafting!
What is Magazine Mondays All About?
It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines. We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create.
And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your creations and win fun prizes!
PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.).
Now we want to become your number-one source of inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!
Magazine Mondays – How To Play Along
Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own. Then, we’ll invite you to add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation.
We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Papercraft – Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community.
And the best part?
One lucky winner (chosen randomly) will receive a prize for participating!
And, the winner will get to see her/his creation on the cover of our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board until the next magazine inspiration is posted!
Play along and Good Luck!
