I love the forecasts & studies that Pantone always puts out regarding color. It's like they tell me what I inherently knew …. but didn't realize that I knew. Like when you're feeling off but you can't put your finger on what you're feeling … and then BAM! your therapist friend defines it for you 🙂
Pantone released today their Fall 2011 Color Forecasts for Men and Women. These apply to fashion, home decor, magazine covers, scrapbook layouts, etc.
What do you think?? Have they accurately captured the "it" colors for Fall 2011?
I encourage you to view the full articles for both of these over on the Pantone website (linked above) as they fully explain the feelings behind each of these colors. Kind of like when your therapist explains why you're feeling a certain way. (And besides, if you're like me, you need to know what the heck "phlox" means!!)
If you don't have time to visit the Pantone site right now, here's the scoop in a nutshell: We're all supposed to be feeling "Sensible and Spirited" right now. Hm…. sounds like a deodorant commercial for teenagers…. 🙂
PS: Definition of Phlox from the online Merriam-Webster dictionary: "any of a genus (Phlox of the family Polemoniaceae, the phlox family) of American annual or perennial herbs that have red, purple, white, or variegated flowers, a salverform corolla with the stamens on its tube, and a 3-valved capsular fruit"
