Stampin Up Senior Manager Mandy Grant and her entire team put together an amazing "Gifts Galore" event earlier this month in NW Atlanta. I was able to attend the event and was amazed by their energy, attention to detail, and organization!
The 7-hour event was designed to kickoff the holiday season by showing attendees 6 original & creative handmade gifts created using Stampin Up products. By having the event earlier enough in the season, it allowed attendees the time & opportunity to order the supplies needed to then recreate their favorite gifts for friends and family.
The 6 gifts we created were:
- A stationary box, with customized stationary & envelopes included.
- A bag of coffee placed into a coffee theme decorated box.
- A recipe book.
- A collection of gift tags in a decorated caddy.
- A set of holiday coasters in a gift box.
- A large, ribbon-tied accordion card designed to hold a CD and a gift card.
There were just under 60 attendees divided into 7 groups who rotated like clockwork from station to station to get hand's on experience & instruction on creating each project.
The demonstrators were uber-prepared. Cardstock was pre-cut & pre-scored to exacting detail. Punches, stamps, inks, etc were available in multiples at each station so that there were plenty of supplies for everyone to work simultaneously. Each attendee was given a CD containing video instruction for each project as a reference for recreating the projects at home.
I thought a 7-hour day would be too long, but let me tell you that the time just FLEW as we learned new techniques and crafted together. We even enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Sweet Tomatoes. Yum!
Attendees paid $56 for the event. I have to say that we all received far more than $56 worth of time, energy, craft supplies, food & beverage, ideas and fun. Many thanks to Mandy and SU demo Amanda Morris for inviting me to your "Gifts Galore" event.
