American Crafts just announced their purchase of Crate Paper! Here is an excerpt from their blog post from this morning:
We’re thrilled to announce our purchase of scrapbooking wholesaler Crate Paper!
Crate Paper is known for products featuring its signature distressing/antiquing and cute, accessible designs. Collections include patterned paper, stickers, chipboard, layered embellishments, brads, buttons, and more.
The company was started in 2006 by Lisa and Steve Parkin in Las Vegas and later relocated to Spanish Fork, Utah. Lisa will remain as creative director over the brand to guide new product development and maintain the brand’s signature style.
Just like with Studio Calico, we’re excited to welcome Crate Paper to the AC family and look forward to introducing even more spectacular CP lines to craft with!

As indicated in their blog post excerpt above, American Crafts also announced last week that they were partnering with Studio Calico. Prior to that, Sassafras Lass announced they would no longer be manufacturing their designs; Prior to that, Cosmo Cricket announced they had been purchased by Advantus.
Can you believe all of this? Pshaw! NOW we know what what was obviously going on behind closed doors at CHA Summer, don’t we? Lots of merger, acquistion and partnering talks! I wonder what’s next?

sure has been a lot of moving around…but at least they are not going out of business.. that would be really sad..
